Who is Northminster?

We’re a neighborhood church in Clairemont — families, empty-nesters and retirees, about sixty of us on a Sunday. Small enough that you’ll be known by name. Close enough that we show up for each other.

We exist to love God and our neighbors as ourselves. That’s the whole idea, and it shapes everything: how we worship, how we eat together on Wednesday nights, how we tend a garden with the neighborhood, and how we show up for San Diego.

Whether you’ve been in church your whole life or never been at all, walking in somewhere new takes courage. Here’s everything you need to know.

    One service, about an hour. The message runs about 30 minutes.

  • Kids are welcome

    Ages 3 through 6th grade start in worship, then head to Sunday School with trained volunteers.

  • Coffee’s on

    Grab a coffee and a donut before or after. Worship blends contemporary music with familiar traditions.

Our story

It started in a Clairemont duplex.

In December 1953, a handful of neighbors began meeting in a living room. Eleven years later they broke ground on the tented, mid-century sanctuary we still worship in today.
